Adobe to focus on mobile devices, Technology ,

Adobe has announced that the company intends to focus on HTML 5 for mobiledevices and work with Flash where it can have the most impact for the industry.Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform that is available as a plug-in for mobiledevices to allow them to run videos and play games. There was good news thatAdobe will continue to issue bug fixes and security updates but sad news is thatit will no longer develop the mobile platform. This comes hot on heels after Iwas annoyed when I realized my Nokia N9 didn't have Flash support althoughYouTube works fine with their HTML5 website.

However, I don't think YouTube will experience problems with mobile devicesas they can use HTML5 without problems, as long as the makers of the devicesmake support for HTML5. Adobe has delivered Flash Player for mobile browsersand brought the full expressiveness of the web to many mobile devices for thepast two years and bearing in mind that HTML5 is now universally supported onmajor mobile devices, in some cases exclusively this is a wise move by thecompany that attracts hate and love in equal measure.

Many will agree with me that we expect to see some big changes coming upwith HTML5.At this moment, I wonder how video sharing sites like YouTube andalso web advertisers will react to this news.Apple's iOS devices fanatics likeme will see no big deal in this latest move by Adobe because the iPad, iPhone andiPod touch have never supported Flash and it is not bound to change anytime soonand it seems that Apple's long held argument has eventually prevailed. MobileFlash was the subject of a row between Apple and Adobe over a year ago whenAdobe claimed that Apple did not allow Flash because the iPhone manufacturerwanted to protect its App Store. If Steve Jobs was still alive,he would havecelebrated a triumph that many Android fanatics as weakness in Apple’s system.
