Angry Birds plans to develop playground, Technology ,


The world's number onecomputer game will from next year become a live attraction for children whenfirst ever Angry Birds playgrounds appear in Finland.According to the developerof the Angry Birds app,two Finnish towns will get the first playgroundskitted out with equipment inspired by the game's characters as it signed aglobal deal with playground equipment manufacturer Lappset.

Lappset will manufactureplay and activity equipment and ready-made playgrounds or activity parksinspired by the Angry Birds characters. The Angry Birds playground productrange features animal spring riders, swings, sandpits and a range of climbingtowers with slides, and a unique Angry Birds arcade game.

Angry Brids is found on mobiledevices and Tablet computers and last month it had reached a record 500 milliondownloads just under two years after its launch.Angry Birds , in whichplayers use a slingshot to attack pigs who steal the birds' eggs, has stayedatop the charts since it was launched for Apple's iPhone in 2009.

The game was developed by mobilegaming firm Rovio which has plans to expand the brand across traditionalmerchandising, to items such as toys and baby products, and is taking the birdsto the big screen with film studios.The company also plans to go public withina few years.Rovio was founded in 2003 after three students including Niklas Hedwho is CEO Mikael Hed's cousin and now Rovio's Chief Operating Officer won agame development competition sponsored by Finnish mobile phonemaker Nokia andHewlett-Packard.
