Nokia X2-01 review, Technology ,

After months of waiting,I finallygot hold of Nokia X2-01 today through a teenage friend of mine who is obsessedwith music and quality photos. The first thing to note is an obvious return tothe XpressMusic styling. It feels the phone could’ve been more compact.Theteenage boy has just finished his High school this past year and just likemillions of teenagers worldwide, music tops their wish list followed by socialnetworks namely Facebook and Twitter. There is no doubt Nokia X2-01 is a device for social networking and fast communicationsand QWERTY keypad aimed at those who can’t get enough of text messaging andstatus updates on their Facebook and twitter pages like my teenage friend whichis bolstered by  Communities app whichintegrates Facebook into the device where one can see friends’ updates directlyfrom the homescreen and easily post your own updates and photos.

The teenager was proud to showme his new acquisition and since the handset is sleek with a solid qwerty and music DNA running on the handset,he could not have asked for more asfestive season nears. The Nokia X2-01 is only the second QWERTY messengerfeature phone by Nokia after the C3.While testing,it was clear that one can typeso fast, so fast you can barely see what your typing. The X-series range ofphones are music oriented devices, and with device Nokia truly addressed thedemand and love for social networking and heavy texting. The teenager whosefirst name is Christopher, asked me to send a song by Cabo Snoop called Windeckvia Bluetooth and that is when I realized there is one click access to music, the media player, FM radio and the Ovi Music service, for unlimited access to avast library of tunes.

The screen has decent contrastand commendable sunlight legibility. The phones comes with a 2.4-inchQVGA screen and a VGA camera on the back and measures 119.4 x 59.8 x 14.3mm andweighs 107.5g. It does support memory cards up to 8GB and there’s no WiFi andonly GPRS and EDGE data, but that’s compensated for by the low price.Theexposed 3.5mm audio jack and the charger plug are up top. There is no volumerocker and dedicated camera key in this phone with camera resolution being amess to say the least. This phone offers various connectivity ports with both microSDslot and the microUSB port being covered by a common rubber lid on the phone’sleft side but unfortunately the two apertures are harder to access.
It was slow when i tried to load www.wanarua.com as seen above

The phone has 1020 mAh batterythat easily give you more than four to five days of use considering there’snothing much to drain power. In my conclusion, this phone has nothing new tooffer apart from the appealing design which makes it feel richer than it’scost.I do not know if it was targeted at teenagers like Christopher but nomatter the age group it is targeted on, one can get a crush on the phoneespecially with  its ultra-comfy keyboard.Four-row QWERTY keypad has welldefined and reasonably sized keys and nicely convex keys are tactile. Thebacklighting is impressively sharp and solid and if you’re text andsocial media addict who’s looking for a total value for money product the X2-01is a great buy.
Loading communities was much faster than a standard website
